IMDEA Materials Institute is looking for a Research Associate with PhD in Solid Mechanics, or Materials Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computational Materials Science to work in the research project MAFMA (multiscale modelling of fatigue in Mg alloys) funded by the Comunidad de Madrid. Research activities will be the development of multiscale modeling strategies for deformation and failure in Mg alloys under cyclic loading. In particular, dislocation dynamics, crystal plasticity and phase field modeling will be used to study the role of slip bands and twin bands on plasticity and microcrack nucleation during cyclic deformation.
IMDEA Materials is looking for a laboratory technician who will be in charge of the X-ray lab. The laboratory holds an X-ray tomography system (Nanotomo GE) and an X-ray diffractometer (Panalytical Emperean), plus several in-house developed devices. The tasks of the offered position will be related to the use of those equipment.
The successful candidate will contribute to develop a broadly-applicable biological sensor and diagnostic device. He/she will work with a collaborative team of researchers on developing of biosensor devices.
