CIDETEC is a private applied research organisation founded in 1997. It employs 215 people, 80% of whom are university graduates and 40% PhDs. The volume of activity reached €15m in 2021.
Located in the Gipuzkoa PCT and with facilities in the Gipuzkoa Electromobility Pole MUBIL, CIDETEC integrates three international reference centres:
- Energy Storage (CIDETEC Energy Storage)
- Surface Engineering (CIDETEC Surface Engineering)
- Nanomedicine (CIDETEC Nanomedicine)
Each has first class equipment, including one of the most advanced laboratories in Europe for the characterisation of materials for energy and a pilot plant for the integral manufacture of batteries, specific facilities for testing, equipment for synthesising, characterising and processing advanced polymers and composites, as well as laboratories and pilot plants for surface treatments.
