This PhD position is part of electrochemistry research group at IMDEA-Materials Institute. Research activities will be focused on the fabrication of high-performance electrode materials with desired structural and electrochemical performance followed by their integration in carbon fiber composite laminates to produce structural batteries.

Conception of polymers actuator to elaborate reconfigurable membranes in situ: The purpose of this PhD is thus to integrate polymeric actuators to the structure of a filtration membrane allowing its partial or total reconfiguration on request.

Under the Engineering Director, you will be in charge of the labs general coordination in order to optimize their performance. You will plan, organize, follow-up and control projetcs or services in which your unit participates, collaborating in the redaction of offers for projects and/or technological services in which your unit takes part. - Create high scientific level collaborations between the Electron Microscopy Platform and the Research Lines of CIC energiGUNE
- Update Platform according to State of the art and research needs: Continuous development of the Platform
- Proactive networking with other Platforms from other research institutions.
- Supervision of Platform members.
- Write proposals to secure funding from government and industrial sources.
- Coordinate collaborations with industries, universities, and other technical centers.

Research activities will be focused in the development of multiscale modeling strategies –based on the phase-field method– to simulate the microstructural development during solidification as well as during thermo-mechanical treatments in Al and Mg alloys.

- Capture, defining, coordinating and executing of research projects in the field of polymers and composites.
- Elaboration of National and European proposals (preparation of reports, search of partners, technical proposal planning, economic planning).
- Project management (definition of the work plan, control of expenses, monitoring reports, reporting to clients and partners, as well as to the department manager).
- Definition of needs of the Area of the polymers / composites.

Colaborate with the General Direction to define the strategy of the plastics and composites area
Plan and design the technological evolution of the area
Direct the technical activity lines defined for the area, being the technical referent for his/her team work
Lead the R&D&I projects of the area and their life cycle, coordinatings tasks and managing their execution

Define and offer the best technical solutions within the polymer research line and their performance in service, getting ahead market trends and client needs
